Notarile Services for Italian Dual Citizenship
Which of my translations need legalization/notarization from an Italian Consulate?
Documents such as birth, marriage, divorce, naturalization issued in Countries outside the USA or Italy must be translated into Italian and the translation needs to be legalized by the Italian Consulate/Embassy of the Country in which the document was issued. In addition, some of the Italian Consulates in the USA may require you to have your translated documents issued from jurisdictions outside of their territory to be sent to the Italian Consulate Jurisdiction from which they were issued for legalization. For example, if you are a legal resident of New York but some of your documents were issued from the State of New Jersey, the New York Consulate may require you to obtain legalization of the translated documents from the Consulate of Newark. If this is required, you will be informed by the Consulate Official upon review of your application.
This Legalization requires sending the document with translation to the Notarile Department of the relevant Italian Consulate/Emabassy. Fees and submission requirements vary from Department to Department.
Service and Fees: Our Notarile Service includes preparing your request for document/translation legalization according to the requirements of the relevant Italian Consulate/Embassy, certification fees, certified shipping and handling and follow up contact with the Notarile Department, if needed, to check on status of your order. The fee is $135.00 per document with translation.
