U.S. Vital Records for Italian Dual Citizenship

When applying for Italian Citizenship, all U.S. birth, marriage, death, certificates must be in “CERTIFIED COPY” a.k.a. “LONG FORM” or “FULL FORM” or “BOOK COPY” (not “abstract”).  These certificates are obtained from the Office of Vital Statistics of the State or County in which the event took place.  Church Records are not accepted under most circumstances.  Official Birth Certificates reporting only the “County” of birth will not be accepted.  Birth Certificates must include the city or town of birth and include the names of both parents.  The documents must be obtained in proper format for authentication with Apostille, specific Apostille requirements vary from State to State.

If the information on the marriage license and certificate does not include full names of both spouses and dates of birth, the Consulate may require you to obtain the "Application for Marriage License".

Service: We obtain US Vital Records from all 50 States and are Registered Agents at New York City Vital Records.  The service includes application compilation, filing fees, certified mail shipping and handling, follow-up calls as needed.
